Recently, while binging on our favourite YouTube channels, we came across this banger by upcoming US rapper, Kash XO titled ‘I’m That Kid’.
Produced by SIXZIN, the song has since literally become a household tune here at OthersEyed.
The song speaks about Kash XO’s come up and what he has had to do to navigate through ‘the streets’ thus far. While you might be thinking “Isn’t that what almost every rap song is about?” Well…maybe, however what really caught our attention when it came to this song is the soothing sample and Kash XO’s flow on the beat. We always have to admire whenever the right combination of elements have been made on a musical project and though the thought process behind the song might have not been as technical as this review is, we just wanted to highlight the key golden points for us.

So, while you’re listening, let’s just talk a little bit more about why this is an absolute slapper. Once again we have to mention how Kash XO’s flow fits perfectly on the beat. It’s not everyday that an upcoming artist decides to make a trap song this inspirational. The melody is absolutely amazing. There’s a warm, passionate piano for the bridges in Kash’s verse which are absolutely gripping. The bam! That crazy bass kicks in when the beat drops right before we’re introduced to higher keys of piano.
Now we’re only delving this deep into the production as the intro instrumental is what really caught our hearts. Kash XO’s rap skills then elevated the song to a whole new level. That’s we feel it should, all elements complementing one another and meeting each other’s standard in whatever genre it is.
Really a cool song to jam to. A big congratulations to Kash XO’s for reaching across the border to bring this amazing track and we trust there will be more bangers coming. For now, you can check out the I’m That Kid music video on YouTube here:
